India and Malaysia will be signing nearly half a dozen agreements in the areas of Information Technology and Services, Tourism, Traditional medicine and cultural exchange including the declaration of Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement. AIR Correspondent covering Prime Minister' s visit reports that the agreement will be signed after the talks between Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak at Putrajaya in Kuala Lumpur. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that India gives a lot of emphasis to relations in the ASEAN countries and Malaysia is one of the most important countries of this region. He said that sky is the limit in working together to promote trade and investment as well as promote cooperation in multi-lateral and regional Fora. In an interview to a national daily ahead of his visit to Malaysia published today, Dr. Singh described the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to India in January this year as a landmark visit. He said, there is a lot of scope for the two countries to promote bilateral ties as well as regional cooperation to ASEAN. Dr. Singh expressed the hope that the comprehensive economic cooperation agreement will come into force next year. Negotiations on the agreement have already been completed. Dr. Singh said that this agreement will qualitatively task form economic relations and boost trade and investment flows between India and Malaysia.
