India and Kazakhstan have identified several new areas to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. This was stated by the External Affairs Minister, Mr S M Krishna, who is on a three-day visit to Kazakhstan. Mr Krishna called on Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Massimov. Talking about his meeting, the External Affairs Minister said he held detailed talks with the Kazakhstan leaders. An agreement in the field of culture has been signed during the visit. He said both the countries have also finalized a roadmap in which specific sectors and projects have been identified for time-bound implementation. Mr Krishna also addressed a joint meeting of Indo-Kazakh Business Forum, and invited Kazakh businessmen to invest in India. A large contingent of Indian businessmen is accompanying the External Affairs Minister to explore greater economic ties between the two countries. Mr Krishna thanked Kazakhstan for its support to India's bid for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.
