India and Iraq have decided to take their relationship to a higher level by enhancing cooperation in oil and hydro carbon sector.

Te joint economic commission headed by the Oil Ministers of the two countries is expected to meet early next month in Baghdad to finalise the modalities.

The agreement to this effect was taken up at the bilateral delegation level talks between Indian and Iraqi foreign Ministers in Baghdad yesterday.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, returned home last night from Iraq.
