India and Germany sign 2 pacts for financial and tech co-operation

India and Germany have signed two umbrella agreements for financial and technical co-operation, under a bilateral development cooperation framework. The pacts were signed by Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Mueller during their bilateral meeting. German President Joachim Gauck is presently in India on an official visit. The Umbrella Agreement on Financial Cooperation pertains to concessional loans from Germany for nine projects, including Himalaya Hydropower Programme.The agreement for technical cooperation pertains to 13 projects in energy, environment and sustainable economic development sectors.
