Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jinping said, India and China should take their strategic partnership to higher levels. Mr Jinping said, both the countries have common development goals therefore, it is important that the two deepen the alignment of development strategies. Mr Jinping said, this can help in creating more opportunities for the world.
Later, Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajghat and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
Meanwhile, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said, the issue of Chinese incursion have already been raised yesterday in a meeting between Prime minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said, the issue will be raised again today when Mr Modi and Xi Jinping will hold meetings.
AIR Correspondent reports, the two countries, in a short while from now, will hold delegation level talks to expand bilateral cooperation and strengthen ties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will discuss important regional and international issues during the talks in New Delhi today. The Chinese President, accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan and a delegation of senior party functionaries and government officials, is on a three-day visit to India.
