India and the UK have agreed on the text of a landmark civil nuclear deal. Addressing a joint press conference with Commerce Minister Anand Sharma in London, Britain's Business Secretary Lord Peter Mandelson said, a formal pact may be signed within a week after ministerial approvals. He said, the two sides have also agreed to open up a number of professional services like legal, accountancy and banking between the two countries. <br/><br/>Meanwhile. The safeguard agreement between India and the International Atomic Energy Agency – IAEA has come into force. This paves the way for full implementation of India-US Civil Nuclear accord. US President Barak Obama has certified that India has placed its civil nuclear facilities under the IAEA safeguard. He also certified that India has filed a declaration of facilities as mandated by the bilateral agreement and the separation plan presented in Parliament on 11th of May in 2006.
