India and Bangladesh today exchanged the instruments of ratification for three agreements which include the Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons, an agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and an Agreement on Combating International Terrorism, Organised Crime and Illicit Drug Trafficking. The three agreements were signed between the two countries during the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina to New Delhi in January last year. The Protocols for Exchange of the Instruments of Ratification were signed today in Dhaka by India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mr.Rajeet Mitter and the Home Secretary of Bangladesh, Mr. Abdus Sobhan Sikder.The three agreements will now come into force from today with theexchange of the instruments of ratification between the two countries.
