India aims at doubling its global trade share by 2014<br/>

India has taken several initiatives to ensure the growth of its global trade despite the economic slowdown around the world. Replying to the debate on the Demands of Grants of his Ministry, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said in the Lok Sabha today that India has set a target of doubling its share in global trade by 2014 which was 300 billion US dollar in 2011. He said that India is continuously working to increase its exports to all around the world. Sharma said that India has, of late, been facing a trade deficit because of the growing cost of imports of petroleum products and gold. He said that government is continuously making efforts to enhance its market access in China to balance its trade. Later, the House passed the Demands for Grants for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry 2012-13.
