Ashwin registered his best away bowling figures of 6 for 46 as the hosts were bundled out for 183 after opting to bat first. Skipper Angelo Mathews top scored with 64, while Dinesh Chandimal made 59. Veteran wicket keeper-batsman Kumara Sangakkara, who is playing his penultimate Test, could only make 5.This is the opening Test of the 3-match series, and Sangakkara will retire after the second game which will be played in Colombo from the 20th of this month.
