India will provide financial assistance of 2.87 million US Dollar to Afghanistan for the refurbishment of 350 buses to help in strengthening the public transport system of capital Kabul. The Indian Embassy in Kabul said in a statement that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Acting Afghan Minister of Transport, Mohammad Hameed Tahmasi and Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Manpreet Vohra. The statement, tweeted by the Ministry of External Affairs, said 350 buses are expected to be operational by the end of 2018 to strengthen the public transport network.
