India agree to play bilateral cricket series with Pak in neutral Sri Lanka

After months of uncertainty, India are to play a short bilateral series with Pakistan in 'neutral' Sri Lanka. The arch-rivals will play three ODIs and two Twenty20 internationals. IPL Chairman and BCCI functionary Rajeev Shukla told reporters in New Delhi today that the much awaited series is likely to happen from 15th of next month in Sri Lanka. He said both the Boards have agreed for Sri Lanka as a venue. His comments came hours after Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave his approval to the Pakistan Cricket Board today to send the national team to Sri Lanka. Agencies report that BCCI is awaiting response from the Indian Government on the fate of the series. Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2007. Cricketing ties between the two countries were stalled in the aftermath of 2008 terrorists' attacks in Mumbai.
