India today added two more medals in Shooting including one silver and a bronze on the tenth day of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Heena Sidhu won silver in the women singles 10 metre Air pistol women Shooting while compatriot Annuraj Singh finished fourth. The bronze for India also came in Shooting as Samresh Jung finished third in Men's singles 25 meters standard pistol event with 559 points. The Gold in the event went to Singapore's Bin Gai and the Silver to Trinidad and Tobago. Samresh Jung said, he had hoped to do better. In boxing, the Indian pugilists Suranjoy Mayenbgbam in fly weight, Manoj Kumar in Light welter weight and Paramjeet samota in Super heavy weight category are boxing their final gold bouts today. In Table-Tennis, Indian Duo of Subhajit Saha and Achanta Sharat Kamal entered the Men's Doubles final defeating their English rivals Baggaley and Pitchford, 11-13, 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 11-6. In Men's Single's semifinals Sharat Kamal lost to Yangzi of Singapore. Soumyadeep Roy lost to Ning Gao of Singapore today. In women's Doubles semifinal India's Paulomi Ghatak and Mauma Das takes on Li and Sun pair of Singapore. In Badminton, 5 Bronzes will be decided today, with India assured of one in men's Singles bronze medal match between Kashyap and Chetan Anand. India's Saina Nehwal had yesterday reached the final with a straight game victory over Scotland's Susan Egelstaff. The women's doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa have also advanced to the final. With action entering the last two days of the Games, the hosts are in the second spot in the medals tally with a haul of 32 Gold, 26 Silver and 33 Bronze. Australia are holding the top spot with a rich haul of 68 Gold, 45 silver and 41 bronze. England are third with 30 gold, 50 silver and 42 bronze. 28 more gold medals were to be decided today with final results in Aquatics Diving, Boxing, Cycling, Lawn bowls, Shooting and Squash events. Medals will also be on offer in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Hockey and Table Tennis. In Cycling, Canada's Tara Alice Whitten won gold in the 29 Kilometres women's cycle road event, where India's Helen Devi, Panna Chaudhary and Sunita Devi participated. In men's 40 Kilometers cycle road event Amandeep Singh, Atul Kumar and Sombir carry Indian hopes. The Women's hockey final between Australia and New Zealand were tied 2-2 till half time. India had yesterday made it to their first Commonwealth Games Hockey final in Men's hockey beating England on penalties. Indian Hockey captain Rajpal Singh said, it was team work that led to the victory. Two gold medals will be decided in Aquatics Diving and Lawn Bowls events each while 3 gold are on stake in Squash and one in Gymnastics.An Indian Women Athlete Rani Yadav flunked the dope test today. Rani had competed in the the 20 kms Women Walk and finished sixth in the event final held on the 9th of this month . Yadav's name was withheld by the Commonwealth Games Federation initially and then revealed through a statement. A Commonwealth Games Federation statement said it has been confirmed that the A sample of Ms Rani Yadav, a competitor in the women’s 20 kilometre road race on October 9, 2010, was found to contain 19-Norandrosterone, a prohibited Anabolic Agent under category S1 of the WADA List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. The Statement added that, Ms. Yadav has been provisionally suspended from the Games and, and, the athlete will attend, or be represented, at a Provisional Hearing before the CGF Federation Court later today. Earlier Nigerian 110m hurdler Samuel Okon and compatriot women's 100m gold medallist Osayemi Oludamola have been tested positive. Both of them have been disqualified. The 100 Metre Women's medal have been awarded to Natasha Mayers of St. Vincent and Grenadines. The silver was given to Katherine Endacott and the bronze to Bertille Delphine. Mr. Lalit Bhanot said, the sports infrastructure that has been created for the games will be put to optimum use for the promotion of sports. He said, the government had made massive investment in developing infrastructure, in terms of stadiums. Endorsing Bhanot's view, Mr. Fennel said, the federation would also take initiative with India for the use of the games legacy to promote sport in the country.
