India today added four more medals to its kitty including one gold in shooting, one silver and one bronze each in archery and wrestling. Shooters Vijay Kumar and Gurprit Singh won the 12th gold for India today in Men's 25 metres rapid fire pistol event, setting a new Commonwealth Games record. Vijay and Gurprit scored 1162 points bettering the earlier record of 1134 points set by Vijay Kumar and Pemba Tamang in 2006. Gold winner Gurpreet said it was a splendid experience. In Archery, India's Men's Compound team won silver for India a short while ago. The team comprising Jignish Chittibomma, Chinna Sridhar and Ritul Chaterjee scored 229 points. They had beaten South Africa 226-224 in the semies. Sudhir Kumar of India has won a bronze in the 77 Kg category Weightlifting. The Men's finals of Group A took place this afternoon.Earlier, the Indian trio of Bheigyabati Chanu, Jhano Hansdah and Gagandeep also won a bronze in the women's compound archery event beating Malaysia 223-219 in the third place play-off tie today. Indians were 195 with three rounds while Malaysia finished at 219. When the last arrow was to be shot by Hansdah, India needed five points and Hansda shot eight to give India today's first medal.India's gold hunt continues with the hosts in second position on the medals tally with 12 gold, 9 Silver and 7 bronze. Australia firmly in first position, has hauled up a massive lead in the competition with 23 Gold, 17 Silver and 10 bronze. The Aussies fiercly dominated the Cycling track and Swimming as well. More than 15 golds were won in Cycling and five in Swimming by the Aussies. Australia won yet another Gold today in the women's 10 Kilometres cycling race.In Wrestling, India's Nirmala Devi in 48 Kilogram and Geeta in 55 kilogram category have entered the finals in the women category. Suman Kundu today lost the bout in 63 kg event but is still in contention for bronze. In Tennis, India's Somdev Devvarman breezed into the Men's Singles Semi-finals. Somdev today trounced his opponent from New Zealand 6-3, 6-4. In Badminton, India is playing in the team event this evening. Ace Women shuttler Saina Nehwal said India expects to continue its good performance in the semi-final as well.Indian Medal hopes continue in Shooting, Lajjakumari Gauswami and Tejaswini Sawant are top contenders for the top spot in women's 50 meters Rifles 3 position singles event. In men's 10 meters Pairs Pistol event Omkar Singh and Gurpreet Singh are medal hopes for India. Asher Noria and Ronjan Sodhi will be in contention for top honors in men's Double Trap singles event. In Men's Hockey India takes on Australia in Group A match at the National Stadium this evening. The day will also see Indian challenge in Athletics, Boxing, Netball, Women's hockey and Swimming events.In weightlifting, India's Sudhir Kumar won the bronze in men's 77 kilogram category.
