On the third day of the Mohali Cricket Test, India will resume its first innings play this morning at the overnight score of 271 for 6 against England. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja with an unbroken 67-run seventh wicket stand were at the crease when stumps were drawn. The hosts are trailing by 12 runs with four wickets in hand. The Indians looked set to build towards a substantial lead when Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara were at the crease yesterday, but post-tea the hosts lost three wickets for only eight runs. Earlier, England made 283 in their first innings. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets while Umesh Yadav, Jayant Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets each.The hosts are currently leading the five Test series, 1-nil. They had won the last game at Visakhapatnam by 246 runs. The first Test had ended in a draw.
