In Jammu and Kashmir, indefinite curfew clamped in the border town of Rajouri, continues for the third day today even as there has been no report of any untoward incident from any part of the town. Curfew was imposed in Rajouri town following eruption of tension when some unidentified persons pelted stones on a religious procession forcing police and para-military to resort to tear-gas and lathi-charge to separate the two groups.Meanwhile, J&K Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohd. Sagar today informed the Legislative Assembly that the situation is well under control in Rajouri town and added that relaxation in curfew may be given if situation remains peaceful.Earlier, the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janata Party members created uproar in the House on Rajouri situation as soon as the House met today. The parties were blaming each other for communalising the situation in Rajouri town for their political interests. The noisy scenes in the House continued for about 15 minutes before PDP members staged a walkout from the House. On the request of various Members that state Government should send a team of senior Ministers to Rajouri to talk to leaders of both the communities, the Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Mohd. Akbar Lone issued directions to the Government to send a team of Ministers to Rajouri today to defuse the situation there. Later, talking to media persons, Leader of the Opposition, Mehbooba Mufti alleged that in view of the forthcoming Municipal Elections, the National Conference and Bharatiya Janata Party have deliberately communalised the situation in the border town of Rajouri.
