Ind vs Aus ODI Series: Opening match to be played today

The opening encounter of the five-match ODI series between India and Australia will be played at Chennai today. The Day and Night match is scheduled to begin at 1.30 PM. After decimating Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli's team will be aiming for another comprehensive show against a depleted Australia side who are without their two top pacers –Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. Meanwhile, in the Indian team, left-arm spinner Axar Patel has been ruled out of the first three ODIs against Australia.The bowler sprained his left ankle during practice session, and Ravindra Jadeja has been named in his place for first three ODIs. Jadeja did not figure in the original 16-member Indian squad for the first three ODIs, which was announced earlier this month. The Indian team is also without opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has been released from the original 16-man squad to attend to his ailing wife.
