Increase in school students’ enrollment can give double digit growth: Sibal

<br/><br/>Union Minister of Human Resource and Development Mr. Kapil Sibal has said that increase in the enrollment of students in school can give double digit growth to the country.<br/><br/>He said it needs thirty percent increase in enrollment of students in schools by 2020 to achieve the goal.<br/><br/>Speaking on the conference of State Education Secretaries in New Delhi on Thursday, Mr. Sibal emphasized the need of quality education in schools and colleges. He said through this we can become the part of the developed world and the center of knowledge. He asked the states to take benefit of the central sponsored schemes for improving educational infrastructure in the country.<br/><br/>He said, after the right of Education, country requires primary schools in ninty nine percent habitats. He said that approximately three lakh new schools have already been opened. <br/><br/>Underlining the need of quality teachers he said those who don't have the requisite qualification must acquire in five years. He stressed the needs for better enrollment of SC, STs, minorities and under privilged classes. <br/><br/>He said under the 'Sakshar Bharat', 70 Million people would be educated out of which sixty million will be the women. Minister also launched National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) portal and logo. <br/><br/>The portal will provide various services including on-line application for recognition of teacher education institutions, on-line submission of appeals and electronic processing of applications.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that three days conference will provide a roadmap for implementation right of Education law.
