Kashmir Valley witnessed a considerable increase in night temperature even as weather department has predicted fresh snowfall and rain in the region. According to MeT officials western disturbances are approaching and rain and snow is expected at many places from Thursday evening. Summer capital Srinagar witnessed an increase of more than five degrees in the night temperature with minimum temperature here settling at 3.0 degrees Celsius.In Gulmarg, night temperature increased by 3.6 notches recording a low of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded an increase of five degrees as the minimum temperature settled there at minus 1.0 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Ladakh region continues to remain in the grip of an intense cold wave. Even though Leh town recorded an increase of more than two notches the minimum temperature there remained 12 degrees below freezing point.
