Increase in COVID-19 cases in Karnataka due to ramped-up testing: Munish Moudgil

Karnataka COVID War Room in-Charge Munish Moudgil has pointed out that the increase in COVID-19 cases in the state is due to ramped-up testing.
''
''He said, one has to look at the positivity rate and Case Fatality rate to track the level of infection spread, rather than the total cases reported every day.
''
''He informed that in July first week, 4,500 tests were conducted in Bengaluru which has today gone beyond 40,000.
''
''Due to ten times increase in testing, the daily COVID-19 cases have also increased.
''
''He said that ignoring 10 times the increase in testing and only looking at the increase in daily cases gives a flawed understanding about the spread of the pandemic to the citizens.
''
''According to the data released on 11th of October, the state has a positivity rate of 10.6 per cent since the last three days.
''
''It has a recovery rate of 81.7 per cent and case fatality rate of 1.4 per cent.
