<span style="color: #222222;">The country has witnessed a significant decline in the incidents of Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the last decade. The incidents of LWE violence have reduced by 77 percent, to 505 in 2021 from an all-time high of two thousand 258 in 2009. Similarly, the resultant deaths including civilians and security forces have also reduced by 85 percent to 147 in 2021 from an all-time high of 1005 in 2010.<br />''<br />''This was stated by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. He said, the geographical spread of the violence has also decreased as only 46 districts reported LWE-related violence in 2021 as compared to 96 districts in 2010. Mr. Rai said, the government has made continuous efforts for security up-gradation and strengthening of Special Forces to deal with the LWE menace in an effective manner.<br />''<br />''He said, the government has taken several steps for the development of LWE-affected States.
