Incidents had sanction of RSS: Swami Aseemanand accused in Samjhauta Express and other blasts

Swami Aseemanand, an accused in Samjhauta Express, Hyderabad Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Dargah blasts has reportedly revealed that the blasts were allegedly sanctioned by the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, RSS. This revelation published in a news magazine has sparked off a controversy. The sangh parivar has questioned the veracity of the interview while the Congress and other parties including BSP has called it a serious issue and demanded a proper probe.

RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said, the National Investigation Agency has no shred of evidence, even against those in jail. Aseemanand’s lawyer issued a statement dismissing the contents of the article are false, baseless and concocted.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said if Aseemanand has made the disclosure, it may be true. Union Minister and Congress leader Rajiv Shukla said it is a serious matter and the Home Ministry should take cognizance and ascertain the truth.

Rejecting the charges, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that the Congress always resorted to such tricks before the elections.
