Ending India's Gold drought at the Incheon Asian Games, Archers bagged their first ever Gold medal, this morning. In the Men's Compound team event, the trio of Abhishek Verma, Sandeep Kumar and Rajat Chauhan defeated Korea in the gold medal match to take India's overall medals tally to 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 15 Bronze.Earlier, in the Women's section, the team of Trisha Deb, Purvasha Shende and Jyothi Vennam defeated Iran, 224-217 to win India's 15th Bronze.In the Individual Compound later today, Trisha Deb and Abhishek Verma will be seen in action in the semi-finals.In the Men's 50-metre Rifle-3 Positions, shooter Chain Singh finished seventh in qualification, with Gagan Narang ending at 15th and Sanjeev Rajput at 12th. In the team event, the trio ended at the fourth position.In results from Canoe Sprint, three Indians qualified for the semifinals of their respective categories.Later today, both the Men's and Women's Squash teams will take on Malaysia for the Gold medal.In Boxing, Mandeep Jangra and Gaurav Bidhuri will play their quarterfinal bouts, while MC Mary Kom, Laishram Sarita Devi and Pooja Rani will be eyeing for last-8 slots.The Men's Hockey team will meet China in a group match.Tennis and Volleyball will see the Indian participation in the quarterfinal stage, while preliminary round matches of Table Tennis are also slated for today.Wrestling and Athletics are beginning from today. Graplers Vinesh, Geetika Jakhar, Amit Kumar and Praveen Rana will compete in the quarterfinals, while Narayana Shraddha, Preeja Sreedharan and Poovamma Raju are among the Indians who will look to progress in their respective events.China is currently at the top of the medals tally, with Korea second and Japan third. With 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 15 Bronze, India has climbed to the 11th spot.
