Incheon Asian Games: Ayonika Paul qualifies for 10-metre Air Rifle

In the Incheon Asian Games, Indian shooter Ayonika Paul qualified for the 10-metre Air Rifle Finals this morning. The Glasgow Commonwealth Games Silver medalist finished second in the qualification with a score of 417.7. Other Indians in the event, Apurvi Chandela and Raj Chaudhary could not qualify.In the team event of the category, the trio of Ayonika, Apurvi and Raj Chaudhary ended at the fifth position.Heena Sidhu, Rahi Sarnobat and Anisa Sayyed are currently featuring in the 25-metre Pistol event.India have, so far, bagged 3 of the 4 medals in Shooting, which includes a Gold by Jitu Rai. The fourth medal, the third Bronze, had come in Badminton last evening.Among India's other events today, in Squash, Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal will play their semi-finals matches. Both have assured India of at least two Bronze medals.In Tennis, both the Men's and Women's teams will play against Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.In Hockey, the Women's team will take on Thailand in a group match.Judo will witness Rajwinder Kaur trying her luck in the quarterfinals of the +78kg category.India will also be seen in action in Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Cycling, Rowing and Wushu.Hosts Korea are currently at the top of the medals tally, with China at second and Japan at third. India is joint 10th with Hong Kong.
