Incessant rain continues to hit normal life in Kerala, besides causing devastation to properties and standing crops across the State. South Kerala continues to experience heavy rain and is under flood threat as the monsoon has intensified.<br/><br/>The Met office has informed that heavy rains will continue to lash the State till Sunday. There are chances of winds with a speed of up to 60 kms/hour blowing across the State. <br/><br/>Educational institutions except professional colleges in Kollam district have been given a holiday today, following heavy rain. <br/><br/>Several houses in the coastal belt are inundated as the sea surge continues to advance. In Thiruvananthapuram, the coastal belt which also covers the project zone of the Vizhinjam International Seaport is also under the grip of growing surge of the Arabian Sea, now in full fury.
