Incessant rain lashes many parts of Orissa

Incessant rain lashes many parts of Orissa due to the low pressure formed over north-western region of Bay of Bengal. The low pressure is now on coastal region of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh is likely to cross the state and enter neighbouring Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, according to the Meteorological office at Bhubaneswar. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at some places over coastal Orissa during the next 24 hours with wind speed reaching to 40 to 45 kmph along and off Orissa coast. According to Meterological office, the highest rain fall has occured at Khariar of Nuapada district during the last 24 hours. The heavy rain fall in Orissa has increased the water level in upper catchments of Mahanadi, Rushikulya and Bansadhara. Water level of Bansadhara is flowing above the danger level in Kashinagar.
