The incessant rain in Mumbai and other neighbouring areas has caused loss of life and property. Five people, including three children and two teenagers, in South Mumbai’s Sewri area, were killed when a wall collapsed in a mill compound due to heavy rain for the last few days. The children were playing in the area.In another incident, fishermen from Alibaug with their three boats, have gone missing in the sea due to rough weather conditions. Our Raigad Correspondent reports that at least 12 fishermen, who had ventured into the sea, were missing. The Coast Guard has been alerted about the incident. A senior coast guard official said that two Coast Guard ships, Samrat and Sankalp along with a naval helicopter, have been pressed for rescue operation.Meanwhile, services on the Konkan Railway route continued to remain affected for the second consecutive day today due to accumulation of mud and water on tracks near Pomendi village between Ratnagiri and Nivsar. AIR Correspondent from Ratnagiri reports that restoration work has been affected as mud is constantly sliding on the tracks due to the continuous rain. AIR correspondent also reports that various trains running on this route have been either cancelled or diverted.
