In Odisha, incessant rain has increased water level of almost all the rivers. Some of the rivers like Ib, Bheden, Tel in Jharsuguda district, Baitarani in Bhadrak district and Brahmani in Kednrapara district are flowing above the danger level.Many areas in Balasore, Boud, Sonepur and Nuapada districts have been marooned following incessant rain since last three days.People have taken shelter over river bridges, while communication to most areas of these districts have been cut-off.Some parts of National Highway number 49 near Jharsuguda has also been submerged in the flood water. Many affected people in the flood-hit areas have not been provided relief materials by the state administration.According to Bhubaneswar Meterological office, heavy to very heavy rain fall is likely to occur in some parts of Odisha during the next 48 hours due to the low pressure area formed over north interior Odisha and adjoining gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. Collectors of all the coastal districts have been put on high alert to meet the flood situation.
