In Jammu & Kashmir, incessant rain continued for the past four consecutive days,causing day and night temperatures to fall in Kashmir and other areas in the State. Precipitation in Western Disturbance led to the downfall in the day and night temperatures in Jammu region as well. Meanwhile, rescue operation is underway to trace missing soldier who was buried under an avalanche in Kargil sector in Ladakh. AIR correspondent reports that the weather department has predicted light to moderate rainfall anywhere during the next couple of days. The weather started improving in Srinagar and other areas today afternoon. <br/><br/>A Medium danger avalanche warning already existed that has been issued by Chandigarh-based Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), for avalanche prone areas above 3,000 metres altitude in Baramula, Kupwara, Bandipora, Kargil, Rajouri, Gandarbal, Doda, Poonch, Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir. People have been advised to take precautions till weather improved. Officials told AIR that in ski resort Gulmarg, about 04 feet snow has been accumulated during fresh snowfall in past over three days. They said the Srinagar Muzaffarabad Road in north Kashmir's Baramulla district is also through for traffic. The Jammu-Srinagar national Highway is closed for traffic on the 4th consecutive day today due to massive landslides triggered by heavy rains at several places along the highway.<br/><br/>Deputy Commissioner Ramban Bashir Ahmad Dar told PARIKRAMA that the administration is continuously making efforts to move stranded passenger vehicles and trucks safely towards their destinations. He said four persons have died and two others went missing in various incidents along Srinagar Jammu national highway during past couple of days.
