The Lt. Governor of Andaman Nicobar Islands has accorded approval for continuation of the incentive oriented subsidy programmes during the 12th Five Year Plan. These schemes are – Islands Capital Investment Subsidy, Island Transport Subsidy, Inter Island Transport Subsidy and Subsidy for procurement of pollution control equipments, Captive Power Generator sets, Solar Power, Wind Power, Biomass and Hydro Power machineries and equipments. Lt. Governor has also earmarked 38% of the funds under the incentive programme for OBC Entrepreneurs and 8% for Schedule Tribes Entrepreneurs. In order to encourage and physically handicapped persons the Lt. Governor has directed that 51% of the earmarked fund will be released to women and 3% to physically persons irrespective of their community, against the 50% of the total funds earmarked for the above mentioned programmes.
