In Uttar Pradesh, 17-year old girl ends life following harassment from molesters<br/>In Uttar Pradesh, embarrassed with continuous humiliation, a 17-year-old girl in Biwar town of Hamirpur district set herself on fire on Saturday night after she failed to protect herself from the molesters. Family members of the victim said that two brothers subjected her to harassment every day on her way to coaching classes. On Saturday, they allegedly molested and beaten up the girl chasing her continuously. Angered with the incident, the villagers were protesting in front of a local police station along with the victim's body yesterday, when the police lathi charged and opened fire,in which a man was killed and over half a dozen of people were injured.Later another protester succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Kanpur . Sources said that taking a strong view of the incident CM Akhilesh Yadav, who is on a foreign trip, ordered the suspension of the Hamirpur district police chief Dinesh Pal Singh. He also sanctioned five lakh Rupees financial aid to the kin of the each deceased. He has also instructed the arrest of all the accused . Besides, a magisterial inquiry in the matter has also been ordered. The police have arrested one of the accused while another one, is still at large. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that union minister Sadhwi Niranjan Jyoti today met the families of victims and consoled them. She demanded the immediate termination of DM and SP of Hamirpur terming it as a complete law and order failure. The opposition BJP, Congress and BSP have severely criticised the incident and said that women are most unsafe in the state and the government has failed again and again to control the rowdy elements in its own Samajwadi Party.<br/>
