Kartik Purnima and Guru Parva were celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the Uttar Pradesh today. Glittering ceremonies of Dev Diwali was seen at the different ghats of Varanasi where a Ganga Mahaarti was organized. More than eighty Ghats from Assi to Dashaswamedh were flooded with the light of thousands of glittering diyas decorated with flowers. Thousands of people and foreign tourists attended the Ganga Maha aarti this evening.In Allahabad, dev diwali was organized at the bank of Yamuna and a ghat was decorated with thousand of diyas. Lakhs of devotees took dip in holy Ganga, Yamuna and Saryu Rivers today. On the occasion of Guru parva Gurudwars are also decorated with lights and several programmes were organized throughout the day.
