In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation continues to be grim in terai districts of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda and Barabanki where the mountain rivers are flowing above the danger mark. The river Ghaghra is flowing 66 centimetres above the danger mark in Barabanki whereas it is 34 centimetres above the red mark in Ayodhya. The river Rapti has crossed the warning level in Gorakhpur. Light to moderate rain has occurred in the eastern and terai region since morning. Our Gorakhpur Correspondent reports that the rescue and relief work is in full swing in the affected areas.
