He went down 4-6 to world number 8 Lee Seung-Yun.In track and field events, Vikas Gowda failed to qualify to the Final of Discus Throw. Jinson Johnson was ousted in 800m men's heat. In women's shotput, Manpreet Kaur bowed out in the qualifying round. In 20 km walk, Manish Singh finished 13th.Sprinter Dutee Chand, the national champion, will be vying for a semifinal spot as she is yet to figure in the heats of the 100 metre event.Long Jumper Ankit Sharma will also look to leap into the Final.The Indian Men's Hockey team were held to a 2-2 draw by Canada in their final Group game. India will face Belgium in the last-8 as it finished fourth in the group stage.United States continues to be at the top of the medals tally. China is second, while Great Britain has replaced Japan to third. India is yet to open its account.
