In Rajasthan, villagers light up their lives in Barmer district, establish a 27 kilowatt solar power micro-grid of their own

In Rajasthan, a remote village Meghwalon ki Dhani of Barmer District that is away from power grid has established 27-kilowatt solar power micro grid in their village. Villagers have achieved this target in the short period of 90 days with the financial help of an Oil Company and technical help of Electricity Company.

For the first time, 100 families residing in the village, witnessed their households illuminated by bulbs. This has extended their evening by a few hours. Now school children can study late in the night and women can work in kitchen without lantern. Villager Gangaram said that there life has become more comfortable now.

Gram Vidyut Sabha will maintain this solar power micro grid plant. This step taken by the villagers for the rural development will definitely inspire other villagers too.
