In Manipur, over 80 trucks including oil tankers today arrived with security escort. The commodities are being distributed among the people.The State government had sent around 1,900 vehicles to Silchar in Assam on Monday with police escort to bring food grains and petrol. The state is facing shortage of essential commodities due to the economic blockade, called by the United Naga Council (UNC) which entered 101 day today.Our correspondent reports that Petrol pumps in and around the state capital Imphal opened today after two days of closure. Long queues of vehicles were seen in front of the petrol pumps. Although the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee suspended its economic blockade on the 31st of the last month but the United Naga Council and the All Naga Students Association, Manipur are continuing with the blockade.
