In Karnataka, several Civil Society organisations have come together in Bangalore to assist North East people living in the city to resolve social issues. They have formed Peace and Solidarity Forum for this purpose. Two helplines 9845967545 and 9482396178 have been started by them for North East people to seek assistance on social issues. Mr.Manohar, a convenor in the Forum, informed that North East people staying in Bangalore are sometimes harassed by employers and house owners and some of them face housing problems.Many who left Bangalore still have their belongings here and have not collected House Advance paid to the landlords. The Railway sources said that Special trains sent from Bangalore to Guwahati have come back almost empty. The Police helpline which was started for the people of North East has received no complaints since last few days.
