In Bihar, ruling JD(U) suspended its former MLA Lalan Ram today from party following his arrest in liquor prohibition case in Aurangabad district of the state.<br/><br/>Earlier, he was caught on camera consuming liquor and commenting adversely on liquor prohibition campaign of the Nitish Kumar led government. <br/><br/>Besides suspension from the party membership the JD(U) state president Bashistha Narayan Singh has dismissed former MLA from all posts of the organization. <br/><br/>The Police and Excise team had yesterday arrested Lalan Ram from Amba police station area of the Aurangabad. <br/>Following the implementation of new excise law, the Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act 2016 , consumption and sale of liquor is completely banned in the state. The violation of the act has been made non cognizable.
