Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has said that imposing service charge is unfair trade practice and consumers need not pay it. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi today, Mr Paswan said, there is no legal sanctity of service charge and people charge for food which includes every cost. He said, price list in hotel menu cards should reflect all costs including service charge. <br/><br/>The Minister said, Government is seeking suggestion and feed back from restaurant and hotel industry to put all details in transparency. He also informed that the issues related to service charge will be reflected in the consumer protection bill which is pending in the Parliament.
