In Manipur, the Imphal Bench of the Gauhati High Court started functioning formally from the newly constructed complex from Saturday.Justice Altamas Kabir of the Supreme Court of India launched the formal functioning of the new Complex. Justice A.K. Patnaik, Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, Justice Jasti Chelameswar of the Supreme Court of India and other Justices of various High Courts of the country were present.Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said, the creation of the new High Court complex will pave the way for early setting up of a separate High Court in Manipur.AIR Correspondent reports, the newly constructed Gauhati High Court complex at Chingmeirong, Imphal was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on December 3 last year.The complex, equipped with all modern facilities will be able to cater to the urgent needs to the people of Manipur for time to come.Dignitaries who spoke at the function expressed that with the new High Court complex at Imphal will enable early disposal of the pending cases.This will certainly help the people to have an easy access for justice and be able to carry out the high conventions and traditions of judicial propriety and discipline.
