Senior BJP leader today alleged that immigration of people from Bangladesh into Assam is the cause behind the recent violence. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati, Advani said, apart from immigration, ethnic problem and the demographic change that is taking place in the state are the causes of violence. He said that the problem must not be seen on communal lines but as an Indian versus foreigner problem. He also urged government to update National Register of Citizen.
