IMF recognises NTC as legitimate Libyan Government

The International Monetary Fund(IMF) has recognised the rebel's National Transitional Council (NTC) as the legitimate government in Libya, assuring the war ravaged country of rapid and sustainable economic recovery. The IMF said it is ready to assist the NTC in its efforts to promote rapid and sustainable economic recovery as the country slowly emerges from a violent civil conflict. IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde yesterday announced this at Marseilles in France on the occasion of the Deauville Partnership meeting- bringing together Finance Ministers of the Middle East and North African region, G7 countries and heads of International and Regional Financial Institutions.
