The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has welcomed the financing support from the European Union to increase the resources of the IMF. In a statement, the IMF spokesperson said the IMF welcomes the European Union Finance Ministers' support for a substantial increase in its resources to fulfill the systemic responsibilities.Earlier, the European countries had agreed to provide 150 billion euros to the IMF. The money could be used to help countries in the eurozone struggling to pay their debts. Another 50 billion euros is expected from non-euro countries.
