IMF Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura to visit Sri Lanka

<span style="color: #222222;">Deputy Managing Director of International Monetary Fund, Kenji Okamura will be on a visit to Sri Lanka from today. Sri Lanka's State Minister of Finance, Shehan Semasinghe said that Mr. Okamura will hold several rounds of discussions on recent efforts to improve economic stability under IMF's 3 billion US Dollars Extended fund facility. He added that opportunities to improve the economy in the future and committed to minimize the obstacles and delays will also be discussed during the visit. <br />''<br />''Earlier this year, IMF had approved a 3 billion dollar extended fund facility which will be available over a 48-month period in tranches. The first tranche of 330 million US Dollars was released in March this year. An IMF team led by Peter Breuer and Masahiro Nozaki visited Sri Lanka earlier this month to hold regular consultations ahead of the first review mission later this year. The team had acknowledged positive developments in Sri Lanka's macroeconomic situation, attributing them to strong policy efforts.</span><br />
