IMD predicts widespread rainfall across Northwest, Central India till Jan 9

Isolated thunderstorms and hail are predicted over Delhi on Saturday, the IMD said.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”A fresh western disturbance will lead light to moderate rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh from January 7 to January 9, the IMD said in a statement.&nbsp;Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Punjab, Haryana and northwest Uttar Pradesh over the next two days, it said.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”Cold conditions continue to prevail in parts of Rajasthan with several cities recording rainfall in past 24 hours, a MeT department spokesperson said.<br />”&nbsp; <br />”Jaisalmer recorded 16 milimetre rainfall, followed by 8.2 mm in Sangaria, 7.2 mm in Kota, 7 mm in Sikar, 5 mm in Banasthali, 4.9 mm in Ajmer.<br />”&nbsp; <br />”State capital Jaipur recorded 11.2 degrees whereas maximum temperature was 15.4 degrees.<br />”&nbsp; <br />”Several parts of Madhya Pradesh, including its capital Bhopal, also experienced unseasonal rains with thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and hail forecast in the western region of the state on Friday.<br />”&nbsp; <br />”The Nagpur-based Regional Meteorological Centre has issued an 'orange alert' warning of thunderstorms with lightning and hail in western Madhya Pradesh. Parts of the state received showers since Thursday.<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <br />”Khajuraho, a tourist town in Chhatarpur district, received 40 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours ended at 8.30 am on Friday, the weather office said.</span><br />
