The Indian Meteorological Department, IMD, has predicted active monsoon conditions over parts of central and east India during the 1st half of the week between 28th of this month and 3rd of next month with decrease in rainfall during the 2nd half of the week.
A MeT Department weekly forecast said, isolated heavy rainfall would occur over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh during the 1st half of the week. Rainfall would occur at many places along the west coast and over northeast India.
It would also occur at few places over northwest India during the 1st half of the week and would increase towards the 2nd half of the week, particularly over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Subdued rainfall activity would occur over the remaining parts of the country particularly over interior Peninsula.
Rainfall was significantly more over central India and less over south Peninsula and east and northeast India during the week from the 19th to 25th of this month compared to the last week.
Our correspondent reports, seasonal rainfall upto 25th of this month was 22 per cent below the Low Pressure Area in the country, same as that by the end of last two weeks.
