Tamil Nadu Met Department has issued a red alert warning to fifteen districts for another two days. Rainfall is expected due to a low-pressure area which is likely to be formed over South Andaman sea on 29th. It is likely to become more marked and move west northwestwards during the subsequent 48 hours. <br />''  <br />'' Normal life was thrown out of gear due to the prevailing situation in the Bay of Bengal. Incessant rain was witnessed in several areas of the state recording 70 per cent of excess rainfall during this season. Two teams of the NDRF have been deployed in Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram. Five people have died in rain-related incidents till now. Strict warnings have been issued to the public not to venture near water bodies including road and rail bridges, lakes and reservoirs. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin visited many areas in Chennai to take stock of the situation. Preventive measures were taken to handle emergencies. District Administrations have been asked to monitor the water levels due to excess rainfall in catchment areas.
