The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for northern parts of Maharashtra for today. It has predicted heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds & hail at isolated places in North Maharashtra. Except for some districts of Marathwada and Vidarbha, a yellow alert has been issued for the rest of the State today. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are very likely to happen in a few places in these districts.<br />
