IMD forecast severe cyclonic storm Biporjoy expected to cross Jakhau Port between Gujarat's Mandvi and Pakistan's Karachi

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the severe cyclonic storm Biporjoy is expected to cross Jakhau Port between Gujarat's Mandvi and Pakistan's Karachi by this evening. The storm is likely to have a maximum sustained wind speed of 115-125 kilometers per hour, gusting to 140 kmph.<br />''<br />''Heavy rainfall is expected in various districts of Gujarat, including Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Junagarh today. According to the IMD, rainfall will continue for the next two days in north Gujarat and adjoining south Rajasthan. The IMD has also issued a warning for fishermen to suspend all fishing operations in the northeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea.<br />''<br />''Addressing the media in New Delhi today, the Director General of the National Disaster Response Force, NDRF, Atul Karwal, provided an update on the ongoing situation. He stated that around one lakh people residing in coastal areas and low-lying villages have been successfully evacuated as of this morning. The DG mentioned that a total of 18 NDRF teams have been deployed in Gujarat to assist with emergency response and relief efforts.<br />
