The government has said the action against illegal slaughter houses should be welcomed. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in the Rajya Sabha during the Zero Hour that the illegal slaughter houses pose a threat to health and environment. <br/><br/>He said the legal slaughter houses will not be touched but the illegal ones will not be spared. Raising the issue, Nadimul Haque of the TMC alleged that several people are facing crisis of livelihood due to closure of slaughter houses. <br/><br/>He said this has also affected other industries like hotels and leather. Mr. Haque said that the action amounts to encroachment on right to living.
