The CBI today filed a chargesheet in a special court in the illegal mining case, involving Obulapuram Mining Company owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
CBI Joint Director Hyderabad Zone said the chargesheet was filed against Janardhana Reddy, his brother-in-law B V Srinivas Reddy, also the Managing Director of the mining company, and against former Director of Mines and Geology Andhra Pradesh V. D. Rajagopal.
The Reddys, who were arrested on 5th September from Bellary in Karnataka, are presently in judicial custody and lodged in the Chanchalguda Central Prison in Hyderabad along with Rajagopal, who was arrested subsequently.
The CBI has not mentioned IAS officer Srilakshmi's name in the chargesheet whom it has arrested.
However, the CBI informed the court that an additional chargesheet will be submitted later. The CBI has submitted 600 documents along with a chargesheet.
